TOURISM: PALIO DEDICATED TO AMICO IN ARSOLI
25 giugno, 13:25 (ANSA) - ROMA, 25 GIU - A Palio dedicated to captain of
fortune Amico d'Arsoli and to celebrate the birth of the
village: this event will take place in Arsoli, in the province
of Rome, on June 26 and 27.
The 40th year of the event celebrates the birth of Arsoli,
certified by a royal document from June 28 997. Amico d'Arsoli
ruled the town and lived in the sixteenth century, during which
the feud of Arsoli became a point of reference for the land's
political balance.
In the afternoon of Saturday June 26, the historic procession will file down the roads through the town's centre and its four ancient hamlets. Knights, dames, drummers and flag wavers in historic costumes will walk through the narrow streets of the ancient town, dominated by castle Massimo. The next day, on Sunday, there will be an archery competition between the four historic hamlets, accompanied by games, music and acrobats.(ANSA).
