(ANSA) - Rome, September 2 - Marco Borriello on Thursday
said he was "psyched" by his reception at AS Roma after his move
from AC Milan."I'm psyched up by all these TV cameras, all these people," the Italy striker said at his official presentation.
"It's confirmation that I've come to a very great club".
"I promise to work as hard as I can and play my heart out in this shirt," he said, clutching a Roma jersey.
"I've got so much motivation and that's the key thing for a player".
Borriello, 28, moved to the capital Tuesday after refusing a loan to Juventus.
A text message in Roman dialect from Italy teammate Daniele De Rossi helped make up his mind, he revealed.
"Annamo a vince' (Let's go and win)," it said.
Borriello also praised Roma skipper Francesco Totti, "who has made history at this club and for Italy".
"I hope I can help him and he can help me".
Borriello was forced to look for another club after Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Milan from Barcelona, effectively relegating him to the bench.
The Neapolitan-born centre forward played 53 times for the Rossoneri and scored 16 goals.
He has five Italy caps but has yet to score for his country.
